My dog’s allergy test results returned and he’s apparently allergic to nearly all staple foods of our human lives. Thus, I have to discard the dog food and prepare homemade food for him every day, which makes me really excited. I don’t like the feeling of putting questionable food into my dog’s belly; mine, that’s another story, I’ll eat anything from a street stand even if it means the runs for 3 months. But for my doggy, I want him to be healthy because he’s not made of adamantium like meself.
I found some great resources on raw dog food, so I made a concoction of fresh raw lamb, veggies, egg, oats, and supplements for his digestive system. But I made a mistake, I pureed everything, even the meat, which resulted in unsightly diarrhea-looking paste. My dog’s not very picky, but I think I went too far this time.
I’m trying to find more economical ways to prepare his food because it can be quite costly this way. Costco, is one of my best friends. I’m happy because they provide organic foods now–a long way from their Price Club days. Haven’t heard that name for a while, huh?
Anyway, my dog doesn’t like eating alone, so I have to stay in the same room for him to eat. He ate half his meal so far, so that’s a good sign. I’m paranoid about leaving the food out since it’s raw, but I make sure to take the bowl away if it’s been sitting out long enough. I also scrub down the area with anti-bacterial soap when he’s done. I’m a selective germaphobe.
Anyway, I have to get going. Lots of errands to run.
